Security Bulletin
Summary
Security vulnerabilities have been reported for IBM SDK for Node.js. IBM Business Process Manager includes a stand-alone tool for editing configuration properties files that is based IBM SDK for Node.js (CVE-2016-2086, CVE-2016-2216, CVE-2015-3197, CVE-2016-0705, CVE-2016-0797, CVE-2016-0702).
Vulnerability Details
CVEID: CVE-2016-2086
DESCRIPTION: Node.js is vulnerable to HTTP request smuggling, caused by the improper handling of the Content-Length header. A remote attacker could send a specially-crafted request in a malformed chunked header to the Web server to cause multiple processing conflicts on the servers. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to poison the web cache, bypass web application firewall protection, and conduct XSS attacks.
CVSS Base Score: 6.1
CVSS Temporal Score: See https://exchange.xforce.ibmcloud.com/vulnerabilities/110530 for the current score
CVSS Environmental Score*: Undefined

CVEID: CVE-2016-2216
DESCRIPTION: Node.js is vulnerable to HTTP response splitting attacks, caused by improper validation of user-supplied input when processing malicious requests. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to inject arbitrary HTTP headers containing unicode charactesr and cause the server to return a split response, once the URL is clicked. This would allow the attacker to perform further attacks, such as Web cache poisoning or cross-site scripting, and possibly obtain sensitive information.
CVSS Base Score: 6.1
CVSS Temporal Score: See https://exchange.xforce.ibmcloud.com/vulnerabilities/110529 for the current score

CVEID: CVE-2015-3197
DESCRIPTION: OpenSSL could allow a remote attacker to conduct man-in-the-middle attacks, caused by an error related to the negotiation of disabled SSLv2 ciphers by malicious SSL/TLS clients. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to conduct man-in-the-middle attacks.
CVSS Base Score: 5.4
CVSS Temporal Score: See https://exchange.xforce.ibmcloud.com/vulnerabilities/110235 for the current score

CVEID: CVE-2016-0705
DESCRIPTION: OpenSSL is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by a double-free error when parsing DSA private keys. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to corrupt memory and cause a denial of service.
CVSS Base Score: 3.7
CVSS Temporal Score: See https://exchange.xforce.ibmcloud.com/vulnerabilities/111140 for the current score

CVEID: CVE-2016-0797
DESCRIPTION: OpenSSL is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by a NULL pointer dereference in the BN_hex2bn/BN_dec2bn() function. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability using specially crafted data to cause a denial of service.
CVSS Base Score: 3.7
CVSS Temporal Score: See https://exchange.xforce.ibmcloud.com/vulnerabilities/111142 for the current score

CVEID: CVE-2016-0702
DESCRIPTION: OpenSSL could allow a local attacker to obtain sensitive information, caused by a side-channel attack against a system based on the Intel Sandy-Bridge microarchitecture. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to recover RSA keys.
CVSS Base Score: 2.9
