Problem conclusion
THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN CATIA . Restriction Explanation During a sketch creation operation, there are actually 2 commands : - 1 - launch sketcher creation command (we create the sketch by clicking on Sketcher icon or on Sketch with absolute axis definition icon) . - 2 - launch sketcher edition command (this operation launch the sketcher workbench by selecting plane support or when defining the references of sketch). . But the Undo code handles commands independently : in case operations of one user are stored as 2 commands, 2 undo are necessary. There exist no relation between one command and another. This is a basis specification of the undo function and whole undo code cannot be changed for one and only specific case, the sketch creation. Thus it is a permanent restriction. . We understand that it is unusual for user, to obtain an empty sketch in tree by using undo command, although today it is not possible in a direct scenario to create a sketch in tree with no geometry in it. But no solution exist to solve this problem. . Remarks : - an empty sketch should not be a problem for user who can click a second time on undo or enter and exit sketch to make it disappear. - moreover to create empty sketch is being discussed at sketcher development team ; it could be implemented in a future release. In this case, to have empty sketch by performing undo would no longer be a problem. .
