Problem
Only the first part of a multi-part document is displayed for the actions: Preview, Open in HTML Conversion Viewer, Open in PDF Conversion Viewer, or Download All Parts as PDF.
Symptom
You expect all parts of your multi-part document to be displayed or downloaded; however, only the first part is processed, and the remainder of the document cannot be displayed or downloaded.
Cause
IBM Content Navigator uses the OutsideIn viewer service to process some content types, and uses the Snowbound viewer service to process other content types. The OutsideIn viewer service does not support multi-part documents.
If your multi-part document contains content types that are processed by the Snowbound viewer service, all parts are displayed or downloaded.
However, if your multi-part document contains any content type that is not processed by the Snowbound viewer service, your document is processed by the OutsideIn viewer service instead, and the OutsideIn viewer service processes the first part only.
Diagnosing The Problem
Determine whether your multi-part document contains any content types that are processed by the OutsideIn viewer service. If your multi-part document contains any content type that is not included in the following list, only the first part is displayed or downloaded.
Supported multi-part document content types:
- image/tiff
- image/tif
- image/gif
- image/jpg
- image/jpeg
- image/jfif
- image/bmpimage/cals
- image/x-cals
- image/png
- application/vnd.ibm.modcap
- application/pdf
- application/af
- application/line
- text/plain
- image/pcx
- image/x-pcx
- image/dcx
- image/x-dcx
- application/dicom
The supported multi-part document content types are processed by the Snowbound viewer service, and multi-part documents with any other content types are processed by the OutsideIn viewer service.
