Error description

  • 3D Constraints in Part Design not working properly
    1. Open the part file.
    2. Open Sketch.2 and observe that it is fully
    constrained.
    3. Right click on Sketch.2, select Sketch.2 object >
    Change sketch
support and observe that the sketch's origin is
    fixed to the part's
origin(The sketch's VH axes is fixed to the part's
    XYZ planes).
    4. Edit the 3D 80mm dimension in the part and
    change to 200mm.
    >>> The Sketch.2 (and Pad.2) moves!!! The
    sketch's origin is no longer
fixed to the part's origin! Right click on Sketch.2,
    select Sketch.2
object > Change sketch support and observe that
    the sketch's VH axes
still appears to be fixed to the part's origin. Now
    open the sketch
and you can see that the VH axis has actually
    shifted to a new
position! However the sketches constraints still
    appear in the same
position as they were created, as if the sketch has
    not moved!

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION
    5 RELEASE 14 GA level.
    Incident Diagnosis :
Capability to move a Sketch Positioning with a 3D
    constraint.
    Correction Explanation :
We did the same treatment for Sliding Sketch and
    positioning Sketch.
Now, we forbid to move a positioning Sketch.
