HD13862: CATIA CRASHES WHEN SWITCHING A LARGE ASSEMBLY TO DESIGN MODE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Scenario :
  1) Run the command imagecfg.exe  l CNEXT.exe to
  V5R11 SP5 to allocate more than 2GB of memory
  2) Reset the CATIA CATSettings
  3) Start  CATIA
  4) Select Tools/Options and set up the Linked
  Document Localization to have only 'Other Folder'.
  The Search Order should include includes the
  folder where the Data provided with the PMR are
  downloaded and unzipped.
  5) Activate the cache and set the path directory to
  the Temp folder C:\Temp\CATCache_R11
  6) Restart CATIA: An empty product is created and
  the Product Structure workbench is loaded
  7) Load the Assembly Design workbench
  Note that the crash happens only if the assembly
  design workbench is loaded prior to open the
  assembly
  8) Open the assembly layout cec.CATProduct
  9) Once it is loaded, switch the entire assembly to
  design mode using the contextual command
  Representation/Design Mode  on the root assembly
  Results:
  CATIA crashes with the message Command
  interrupted

Problem summary

Problem conclusion

• Hello Level 1,
  the problem is corrected.
  As we told to the customer during some phone call,
  the problem was coming from the links between
  the cgr and geometry. This problem has been
  corrected.
