HD13523: THE NAME OF THE "INTERSECTION" ELEMENT CHANGES

APAR status

• Closed as Permanent restriction.

Error description

• Scenario:
  1) Open the file.CATPart in the GSD workbench.
  2) Select 'Parent/Children' by Intersect.5 ->
  Context Menu.
  => The "Parents and Children" window is
  displayed.
  => Check that parents of 'Intersect.5'
  are 'Intersect.10' and 'Intersect.11' in the "Parents
  and Children" window.
  3) Close "Parents and Children" window.
  4) Check from tree that 'Intersect.10'
  and 'Intersect.11' exist under "Multi Output.1".
  5) Double-Click "Multi Output.1-> Intersect.10".
  => The "Intersection Definition" window is
  displayed.
  6) Select "Clear Selection" by Second Element ->
  Context Menu.
  => Check that the value of Second Element has
  been cleared.
  7) Click 'Second Element'.
  => 'Second Element' become active.
  8) Click "Plane.1" on the tree.
  => Check that "Plane.1" is selected as 'Second
  Element'.
  9) Click "Ok" button.
  10) Check differing from the feature name checked
  by the process of the step 4.
  11) Select 'Parent/Children' by Intersect.5 ->
  Context Menu.
  => The "Parents and Children" window is
  displayed.
  => Check that the parents of 'Intersect.5' who
  checked by the step 2 are not displayed.

Problem conclusion

• THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN CATIA
  Incident Diagnosis :
  The name of the Intersection element changes
  Restriction Explanation :
  When using 'clear selection' in multi output, the
  corresponding intersection input is reset. Cannot remind links
  between removed elements and intersection features (that would
  be necessary
  since second elements is a multiple input).
  By-Pass :
  Use 'Replace' button in elements list instead
  of 'clear selection'.
