ENOVIA LCA V5 WORKSHOP PRODUCT CODE : CHGMNGT PLATFORM(S) CODE LEVEL : IBM AIX SOFTWARE CODE LEVEL : ENOVIA LCA V5 R10 SP8 CORRECTION REQUESTED CODE LEVEL : ENOVIA LCA V5 R10 SP8 CUSTOMIZATION ENVIRONMENT : -> Role(s)/Organization(s) : ADMIN/ADMIN ABSTRACT : Action Item cannot have 2 effectivity of same program SCENARIO : 1) APPLICATION SETTINGS 2) Create a CO 3) Add 3 Action Items 4) Create two effectivity branch (using the same Conf. Object) 5) Save 6) On CO use the contextual menu to Distribute the Effectivity to the Action Items 7) the 1st ED has th 1st effectivity def. 8) the 2nd ED has the 2nd effectivity def. 9) the 3rd has both the 1st and the 2nd 10) select the save and distribute button RESULT : Error Message EXPECTED RESULT : No error, effectivity is distributed to all linked Action Items INVESTIGATION BOARD : ERROR MESSAGE (S) : Illigal effectivity distribution More then one effectivity with object CRJ700 to be distributed to action XXXXX Operation cancelled SEVERITY JUSTIFICATION : 2 cases where this is a problem: Option MS (example BA690T000192 A or A-1): MS contains 7 Action Items, 2 contains an effectivity definition CR25-404, 3 others the CR25-406 and the 2 remaining has a combination of both. A possible alternative would be to create a third effectivity definition that contains both the CR25-404 and the CR25- 604. This alternative is unaceptable due to the amount of work this will ask the users. The second case is with MS containing NIEOs: The case may happen where a MS contains at least 3 Action Items that are NIEO: One would have an effectivity defined (detail part), another would have another effectivity (another detail part), finally the third would combine the first and second eff. def (a third detail part used in both effectivities) The alternative to create extra branches for range or specifications combinations can only be used when a CO contains a small amount of Action Items. The methodoloogy requires duplication of work which will be irritant for the users. Applying this methodology in a context where the users expect to work in a "matrix mode" is likely to cause user acceptance problems. .

Problem conclusion
THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON ENOVIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 14 GA level. NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED ON V5R13SP02 and V5R12SP06. . Incident Diagnosis As described . Correction Explanation Changed code so that the error message does not get displayed and also changed the server code to handle the case where common condition is applied on different domains by two or more different ECO Effectivities. Currently distribution just wipes out whatever common condition is on the Action Associated Object and overwrites with what's on the latest ECO Effectivity it receives. We changed this to remove a domain common condition existing on the Action Associated Object only if we are going to update its effectivity with a new expression, otherwise if the domain of the common condition being distributed is not already present in the action associated object, then we add it (as opposed to replacing whatever the action had with the latest affectivity) . Answer and By-Pass na .
