Error description
Scenario: 1-Unzip the CATSettings.zip item 2-Delete your CATSettings and copy the supplied CATSetting into your Settings directory 3-Open CATIA V5R11SP2 4-Go to Tools/Options/General/Document. Notice the configuration on this panel. 5- Open Product-206.CATProduct 6-CATIA seems to load most of the documents, but the ?Loading in progress panel? never seems to go away. We left CATIA running in this state for over an hour ? the panel was still up 7-Attempt to remove the panel by hitting the ?x? on the upper right hand corner. 8-RESULT: CATIA does not remove the panel. This Error #1 (but not the main problem of this scenario). EXPECTED RESULT: The panel should be removed by CATIA once the ?x? is hit 9-Now hit the ?+? on the ?Products? element on the PPR tree 10-RESULT: CATIA crashes. This is Error #2 (the main problem of this scenario). (Refer to the included abend trace file). EXPECTED RESULT: The Products list should be expanded 11-Now bring CATIA back up; go to Tools/Options/General/Document and move the ?Folder of the pointing document? option to the top, leaving it active (?Yes?), and turn the rest of the options on that list to inactive. (Note: After you change the options on this panel you are warned to log off and back on; if you don?t log off, OK this panel and bring it back up again, you will see the OLD options return! Because of this uncertainty that your new options are in effect, make sure you log off CATIA and back on again.) 12-Open the Product-206.CATProduct. 13-The user now gets the warning message stating a CGR file is missing. This is the expected result. . 14-Close the warning panel, and select the T1-1.1 under the Product list of the tree. 15-Select the File/Desk and notice T1-1.cgr is missing 16-Now log off CATIA without saving anything, delete all the CATSetting again, and log back on to CATIA again - we will be using the Dassault default settings without any modifications. 17-Open Product-206.CATProduct 18-User now doesn?t receive the any warnings about the CGR file! 19-Select the T1-1 from the Product list, Select File/Desk notice the T1-1.cgr is not shown as missing! 20-RESULT: We have inconsistent results: on the one hand, with the supplied CATSettings, CATIA crashes; on the other hand, when we change the Options as in Step 12 above, CATIA complains about a .cgr file missing, and finally, when we use the default CATIA CATSettings, there are no warnings issued about the .cgr file and Desk shows nothing missing. This inconsistency is Error #3. EXPECTED RESULTS: Consistent behavior, independent of CATSettings. .
