Error description
STEP BY STEP SCENARIO: 1. open the CATPart 2. Switch to advanced meshing tools 3. use the following specifications to mesh the part a. mesh size- 25mm b. constrain sag- 2.5mm c. Angle between curves- 10 deg d. Angle between faces- 10 deg e. select strip optimization f. Select directional mesh and minimize triangles g. Use merge during simplification; min size 5mm 4. Do the geometry simplification 5. Use imposed elements and select the element option 6. type in 3 in edit element distribution window selecting the edge of the flange 7. similarly do for the other edge too 8. Mesh the part 9. The mesh looks as shows in the slide 1 of the power point 10. Select Remesh domain; mapped quad option; impact neighbouring domain; mesh size 25mm 11.Select the flange 12. Mesh looks like as shown in slide 2 13. Exit out of the mesher 14. Edit this mesh by double clicking and selecting the yes option 15. Remove the existing mesh using "Remove mesh" command 16. Mesh the part again without making any other changes 17. It produces mesh like shown in slide 3 18. The problems are a. It doesn't remember the domain remeshing done on this b. It doesn't even produces the same mesh as done before- see the difference between slide 1 and slide 3 (No consistency in the algorithm) .

Problem conclusion
Temporary fix
Comments
THE PROBLEM WAS SUBMITTED ON : CATIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 11. THIS PROBLEM IS NOT REPRODUCIBLE ON : CATIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 13 GA level AND ON V5R12SP01 THERE WAS A PROBLEM IN THE CODE THAT IS NOW FIXED. THE MESH DOM AIN IS NOW SAVED AND REMESHING THE PART LEADS TO THE GOOD RESUL TS. .
