HD07400: WRONG REPRESENTATION OF ALIGNED SECTION VIEW WITH OVERLOAD PROPERTIES.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When changing the Overload Properies of a part (from "Cut in
  section view" to "Do not cut in section view"), the Aligned
  Section View becomes a mixt of 2 Offset Section View.
  Scenario:
  1- Open Aligned_Section_View.CATDrawing related to the
  Aligned_Section_View.CATProduct (this CATProduct contains 2
  parts)
  2- MB3 on the frame of the Section View AA
  3- Go Section view A-A object / Overload Properties
  4- Select the "T" shaped part (Handle) to change the
  Overlaod Properties in The Characteristic Window.
  5- Click Edit in the Characteristic Window and uncheck the
  option "Cut in Section View". Select OK and Apply.
  Result:
  The uncut representation is not correct.
  The Uncut representation should be done according to the
  path of the Aligned Section View.

Problem summary

• Wrong representation of the geometry of aligned section view

  2- Delete the Aligned Section view A-A and re-create it
  3- MB3 / Section view A-A object / Overload Properties
  4- Select the T shaped part
  5- Select Edit
  6- Uncheck the opion 'Cut in Section View' (from ON to OFF)
  7- Select OK and Apply
  Result:
  The ellipse at the left side becomes a straight line.

Problem conclusion

• THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 13 GA
  level.
  NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED ON V5R12SP03.
  
  Incident Diagnosis
  Wrong representation of geometry in aligned section views.
  
  Correction Explanation
  Only new created views will be well generated in
  case of aligned section with "uncut" Part(s).
  
  Answer and By-Pass
  This problem has been corrected on V5R12 SP3 and V5R13ga (new s
  ection view has to be created for the correction to be taken in
  to account).
