Troubleshooting
Problem
When using the entry template layout editor, property labels sometimes appear above the property box instead of beside or in line with it.
Symptom
During document entry with an entry template that has been modified with layout editor, the field names or labels display in an unexpected position.
Cause
This happens when the method for allocating the label position is a fixed size - set in pixels, and the browser view is zoomed or scaled, or the screen resolution is changed. Some browsers change both the size and relative position of the text.
Environment
ICN 2.0.3 entry templates modified with layout editor.
Diagnosing The Problem
- Step up or down through the browser zoom levels using the shortcut keys Ctrl+ and Ctrl- or change the zoom level in browser.
- View menu to see the effect on the label and box positions. Sometimes changing the screen resolution to smaller dimensions may cause this issue.
- Check the container layout editor settings in entry template layout editor as described in Resolving the Problem.
Resolving The Problem
- Set the property width and label width to be a percentage of the available display space rather than a fixed pixel measurement.
- To view and change the container settings click on the dotted border of the container layout box.
- To view and change each property box setting, click on the individual property box. Change the width attribute to be a percentage value.
