Error description

  • SCENARIO FROM SCRATCH :
    -----------------------
    1) Open new part and create sketch
    2) Make two distinct circles(`circle.1`and `circle.2`)
    3) Create Constraint with `coincidence` between the center
    of `circle.1` and `circle.2` ; OK
    4) Create Constraint with `concentricity` by selecting
the arc of the circle of `circle.1`and `circle.2` ; OK
    -->  `coincidence` and `concentricity` should be
    overdefined.
    .
For instance, by creating a distance constraint of 0mm
instead of coincidence constraint at Step.3, the sketch
cannot be updated correctly, and constraints are seen
    overdefined as expected.

Problem summary

  • INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS:
Concentricity between circles and coincidence between circles
     centersare not over defined .
    .
     TECHNICAL EXPLANATION FOR THE RESTRICTION:
The variational solver used by Sketcher is able to analyse the
constraint schema and it doesn't set the geometrical
constraintsas over-defined if the system is consistent
    (constraints verified).
    .
This capability is available for geometrical constraints
(parallel, perpendicular, coincidence,...) but not for
    dimensional constraints (length, distance, angle).
    .
In this case, having over-constraint with a distance
constraint of 0mm and having no over-constraint with a
coincidence constraint is the right behaviour.

     BY-PASS:
It's a very powerful behaviour that the system automatically
avoid over-constraints when the geometrical constraint (not
    dimensional) specifications are consistent (verified).
This capability allows you today to put a distance between
two vertical lines or a distance between two parallel lines
    for example.
