Summary

WebSphere Application Server Liberty Profile that is embedded in TADDM could allow a remote attacker to has access to the customer app or a form which sends the contents in a header will be able to split the response and add headers to the response. The customer application will allow cross-site scripting, web cache poisoning, and other similar exploits.

DESCRIPTION:
IBM WebSphere Application Server is vulnerable to HTTP response splitting attacks. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using specially-crafted URL to cause the server to return a split response, once the URL is clicked. This would allow the attacker to perform further attacks, such as Web cache poisoning, cross-site scripting, and possibly obtain sensitive information.

Remediation/Fixes

The solution is to upgrade WebSphere Application Server Liberty Profile to 8.5.5.8.

There is an eFix prepared on top of TADDM 7.3.0 FixPack 1 and 2.
