Problem

Some or all queries are failing with error message 'No such file or directory'

Cause

User removed folder/files on host from /nzscratch/tmp/. This folder is used during NPS runtime operations and should not be touched.

Diagnosing The Problem

1. check history and if /nzscratch/tmp folder exists:

history | grep nzscratch

ls -latr /nzscratch/tmp

2. check if a file exists and if it does, remove it:

[nz@sytem log]$ ll /tmp/elog.wait
ls: /tmp/elog.wait: No such file or directory
[nz@system log]$

Resolving The Problem

Restarting NPS clears the condition as the /nzscratch/tmp/ files are temporary and volatile. After the restart new files will be created when needed.
