  Scenario:
  Refer attached 66880,694,760_20061206.ppt for
  detail scenario.
  1. Launch CATIA V5R17SP2 session.
  2. Open "Part1_R17.CATPart".
  3. Select YZ plane on spec tree and launch
  sketcher.
  4. Click "Constraint" icon.
  5. Move mouse (cursor) to draft surface.
  Result : Highlighted center line does not appear.
  .
  Additional information :
  - When move mouse (cursor) to cylindrical surface
  without draft, highlighted center line appears.
  - On CATIA R16SP7, highlighted center line
  appears by moving mouse (cursor) to draft surface.
  (Please use Part1_R16.CATPart on CATIA V5R16.)
  - In Assembly workbench, centerline of drafted
  surface can be detected.

  Expected result:
  Center line of draft surface should be highlighted.

Problem conclusion

• THIS MODIFICATION WILL BE INCLUDED IN CATIA
  DOCUMENTATION DELIVERED WITH CATIA
  VERSION 5 RELEASE 18.
  .
  Incident Diagnosis:
  1. In sketcher, for constraining purpose whenever
  user selects any elements, it has been consider as
  per an internally defined filter.
  2. This filter has certain defined priority of
  selection. (i.e. either to select the draft surface or
  axis of draft surface)
  3. In case of draft surface, point has more priority
  than line. It means when we select the draft
  surface instead of its axis a point on drafted
  surface get selected.
  .
  Restriction explanation:
  The existing priorities can not be changes as not
  only several other applications are designed
  respecting it but also several corrections have been
  delivered considering this.
  Also there is simple bypass exist.
  .
  By pass:
  MB3 on the Draft : click on OtherSelection
  andselect the axis
  - click Constraint icon
  OR
  - click Constraint icon
  - select "Curve Filter" in "User Selection
  Filter"toolbar
  - select the draft
  .
  Dco Modification :
  Earlier there was explanation regarding user filter
  is available only in CATIA Infrastructure
  Documentation. Now with this APAR we have added
  its reference in Sketcher Documentation also.
