Error description

  • IGES / INCOMPLETE IGS CONVERSION WITH
    GIVEN CATPART
    .
    Scenario:
    1. Start Catia V5 R16 HF08
    2.Open sent IGES_ERROR_R16.CATPart
    3. Refer attached IGES_COLOUR_ERROR_1.png
    and IGES_COLOUR_ERROR_2.png for user settings
    4. Open attached IGES_ERROR_R16.CATPart.
    4.Save it as .igs.
    5.Close CATIA
    6.Open above igs file.
    .
    Additional Information
    1. Body.2 (in NoShow-area) contains a
CloseSurface, created from the dead Surface.1 in
Geometrical Set.2; the bottom face has no colour,
    the top faces are yellow
    2. Body.3 (in Show-area) contains a CloseSurface,
created from the dead Surface.1 in Geometrical
Set.2; the bottom face and the top faces are blue
3.Assure, that only Body.3 is shown element (see
    IGES_COLOUR_ERROR_3.png)
4.Save CATPart as an igs-file (see
    IGES_COLOUR_ERROR_4.png)
    5.Close the CATPart
    6.Oen the igs-file
    .

Comments

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION
    5 RELEASE 18 GA level.
    .
    Incident diagnosis:
    1. In given CATPart, the same geometrical face is
shared by 2 shells. The color of the first shell is
yellow and the color of the second one is blue.
    2. The first shell is in No Show region and second
    one is in Show region.
    3. While export , second shell get graphic
properties of the first shell. ( i.e. color and Show-
No Show.).That s why, we obtain after importing a
    yellow face in No Show.
    4. The current algorithm for igs export not has the
provision to manage graphical properties in such
    specific situation.
    .
    Development Request Justification:
1.Our development team completed the primary
analysis and also summarizes the modification
    needed.
2.In order to make current iges import algorithm to
manage graphical properties accurately , we have
to redesign some part of existing algorithm and
also may need to introduce some of the new
    algorithms.
