Error description

  • Problem
Performance in extracting and exporting wire
information from Catia to Saber is unacceptable.
    .
    Scenario
Note that the SaberHarness / Catia V5 Interface
    (CatiaR16Ext_win_x86) developed by Synopsys
must be installed prior to test.
    .
Step by step for exporting the wires to Saber:
    1. Open harness 82051346 from attached zip-file,
    Export wires.zip
    2. Switch into design mode
    3. Make sure that you are in the Electrical wire
    routing workbench
    4. Select the filtering criteria defintion button and
    read the xml_info
    file
    5. Choose Tools - Export to SaberHarness- Export
    wires
    .
Step by step for exporting the bundles to Saber:
    1. Open harness 82051346 from attached zip-file ,
    Export wires.zip
    2. Switch into design mode
    3. Make sure that you are in the Electrical wire
    routing workbench
    4. Select the filtering criteria defintion button and
    read the xml_info
    file
    5. Choose Tools - Export to SaberHarness- Export
    bundles
    .
Test scenario 3 :Exporting wires HTML
    1. Open harness 82051346
    2. Switch into design mode
    3. Make sure that you are in the Electrical wire
    routing workbench
    4. Choose Tools - Export wires -Export wires
    5. Select the Electrical Bundle

Comments

  • Dear customer,
    .
The way used to retrieve wire information in HTML
export is not the same. In HTML export, all children
of the session are listed (with
    CATIProduct::GetAllChildren) and filtered on
CATIElecAttrAccess interface, then filtered by wire
    type using CATIElecAttrAccess::GetElecType. This
    is a N scan where N = # of products in session.
    .
In the Saber export scan, you are using
    CATIEwrRouteSegment to retrieve all route
segments and then using ListConductors you are
retrieveing all the wires for each segment. This is a
N scan (N for route segments * N for wires
    retrieval of each route).
    .
The N scan will always be faster than the N scan
no matter any performance improvement is done
    on the used methods.
    .
    Best regards,
    CAA support team.
    .
