Error description
NCG / TRACUT OPERATOR : MATRIX OPTION IGNORES MACHINING AXIS SELCTION . SCENARIO . 1. Open CATProcess 2. Expand the Part Operation branch and double- click the TRACUT Operator.1 object. It is a matrix type transformation to mirror about the XZ plane. Matrix type is set to selected machining axis with Axis System.2 selected. 3. Select Pocketing.1 and click the Replay tool path command. Set the option to take TRACUT statements into account and replay the tool path. The TRACUT transformation is applied relative to the Absolute axis system, rather than the selected axis system, Axis System.2. 4. Double click the TRACUT Operator.1 object. Change the Matrix type to "In current machining axis system" and repeat step 3. The results are the same. . PROBLEM . The matrix TRACUT operator ignores the machining axis selected and toolpath is always related to the absolute axis. . EXPECTED RESULT . TRACUT operator should respect the machining axis selected. DS Only . The problem was submitted on R16 SP04 This problem is reproducible on R18 latest level (Build Day: 10th Oct 2006) . .

Problem conclusion
THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 18 GA level. . Incident Diagnosis : NCG / TRACUT OPERATOR : MATRIX OPTION IGNORES MACHINING AXIS SELCTION . This problem is seen for all the Copy operations (i.e CopyOperation, CopyTracut and CopyTransformation activities). The transformation matrix which is applied on the tool path is not calculated even though the machining axis is changed and it is always calculated wrt to the absolute axis. So even though the machining axis is changed the tool path is not modified . Correction Explanation : The transformation matrix is calculated correctly considering the machining axis selection. . Answer and By-Pass : None .
