GSD / EXTROPOLATE IS CREATED KO GSD / EXTROPOLATE IS CREATED KO . 1) OPen the Part 2) Create extrapolate . It is created KO .
Problem conclusion
THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN CATIA . Restriction Explanation . There is an infinity of solution for a curvature continuous extrapolation curve. We return one, but obviously there is no shape control from the user in this feature. . The curve we return is valid and is C2 continuous with the initial curve, thus it meets the feature specifications. The difference between the imported stp file and the CATPart file is the nature of the curve. In the first case it is a 3D curve and in the second case, it is a curve lying on a surface. Its extrapolation then depends on the shape of the surface and its parametrisation. . By-Pass . If the user wants a better control over the shape, then it is necessary to use a way of building the geometry that allows him to control the shape. For instance, in the present exemple , he should create a longer intersection (extruding the surface longer...) and then do a parallel of this longer intersection. .
