Error description

  • Scenario:
    1- File / Open CATProduct
2- In 3D area select BNS called "ghostBNS" and
    localize MultiBNS identification into specification
    tree; Expand identified multiBNS
3- By selecting one by one highlight these 7
    branchables in the 3D area
The Ghost BNS is never highlighted by selecting
    branchable from specification tree
    4- Create a new Catproduct
    5- Switch to EHF workbench
    6- Into the new CATproduct
    Defined EHF parameter
    Mandatory : Coarse /Regular
Minimun Angle : What ever the value (90 deg)
    7- Extract Electrical data from
    M87S315151000E1.CATProduct to 3D
flattening Catproduct within EHF extraction function
    Select the icon then GBN
    Warning appear click OK
8- Electrical GBN have been extracted to 3D
flattening CATproduct; an update is required
    9- Update all
10- Flatten Electrical data of 3D flattening
    Catproduct within EHF Flattening function
    Select icon
Remaining EHF parameters dialog box appear but
can not be validate (OK button is frozen)
11- Select In 3D geometry this BNS
12- Click on select all branches button
13- All Electrical network is selected except left one
(normal cause no electrical connection between
    twice network)
    14- Click on OK
    15- Repeat action from 1 to 10
16- Select In 3D geometry this BNS
    Impossible to select It
17- Select In 3D geometry this BNS
    BNS can be selected
18- Click on select all branches button
20- More than the Left electrical network is selected
(normally impossible cause no electrical links
    between them)
    21- Commit flattening operation
    Result:
    Error message :
Electrical software error inside the flatten command
    .

Comments

  • THE PROBLEM WAS SUBMITTED ON :
    CATIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 16.
THIS PROBLEM IS NOT REPRODUCIBLE ON :
CATIA VERSION 5 RELEASE 18 GA level AND ON
    V5R16SP06
NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM IS ALSO
    UNREPRODUCIBLE ON V5R17GA.
    Incident Diagnosis
The harness has a ghost Bundle Segment which
does not have a branchable. This incorrect data
was identified by Flatten command and so the
    command stopped.
    Answer and By-Pass
This problem has been corrected on V5R16 SP6
and V5R17ga by an internal Incident Report.
