Error description

  • MPA / GLOBAL FEATURE RECOGNITION / HOLES
    COMBINED IN WRONG DIRECTION WHEN
    CREATING HOLE PATTERNS
    .
    SCENARIO
    .
    1) Open a new part and create a box solid.
    2) Insert a hole in one direction with a flat bottom.
    3) Insert a second concentric hole in the opposite
    direction.
    4) Select the entire solid and run MPA to find the
holes and create Machining Patterns. MPA creates
only one counterbored holes from the two holes in
the opposite direction. MPA is only doing feature
    recognition.
    5) If you are using Tool Design and have
Technological Results, we have now way to create
Machining Patterns. This is critical to Tool and Die.
    .
    PROBLEM
    .
MPA creates only one counterbored holes from the
two holes in the opposite direction. MPA is only
    doing feature recognition
    .
    EXPECTED RESULT
    .
MPA should create a different hole patterns, for
    holes with opposite direction.
    .

  • THIS APAR IS CONSIDERED AS A SUGGESTION

    .
Presently we are using Feature recognition Method
    to recognise the feature.
This is done based on the Geometrical information
    present in the CATPart.
Present Limitation in Recognition is -
It does not take in to consideration of the Design
Information provided during the Part Creation
Due to the above reason, Recognition Fails to
    recognise With Design Intention.
A substantial enhancement and development needs
to be done in order to implement this behavior
which is not possible in APAR time period
    .
