Hostname for the GIM client keeps changing on the GIM server interface in Guardium

Troubleshooting


Problem

The hostname for the GIM (Guardium Installation Manager) client on the database server, keeps changing back and forth showing different hostnames every few minutes in the Graphical Interface (GUI) on the IBM Infosphere Guardium GIM server (Guardium collector).

Symptom

Hostname for GIM client on keeps changing on GIM graphical interface on the collector (GIM server).

You may also see the following alert:


ALERT : the hostname of GIM_CLIENT_IP <hostname/ip> has changed from
<hostname1> to <hostname2>!!!. Unless this change was initiated by the administrator,
this condition is illegal (same ip generates 2 different hostnames). Please verify the
integrity of <hostname/ip> ,<hostname1> and <hostname2>
