HD50149: PART DESIGN : WHEN FEATURE RECOGNITION IS EXECUTED, THE OPERATI ON IS NOT ACCEPTED ON A 64 BIT MACHINE

Error description

• Scenario :
  1) Launch CATIAV5R16SP2 64-bit code.
  2) Open the provided CATProduct file. The memory
  used about 6GB.
  3) Right-Click Part1.1 and select the Part1.2 object -
  > Open in new window.
  4) Active the Err1.CATPart window.
  WB: Part Design
  5) Select the Manual Feature Recognition.
  6) The Error dialog box is displayed. (Fig.1)
  7) Select OK Button.
  8) Right-Click Solid.1 and select the Define In Work
  Object.
  9) Select the Manual Feature Recognition.
  10) Select the face as shown.(Fig.2)
  11) Select OK Button.
  12) The Error dialog box is displayed. (Fig.3)
  13) Select OK Button.
  ==> Result :  the operation is not accepted.

Problem conclusion

• THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION
  5 RELEASE 17 GA level.
  NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED
  ON V5R16SP05.

  Incident Diagnosis :
  When Feature Recognition (FR) is executed, the
  operation is not accepted on a 64 bit machine
  .
  Correction Explanation :
  the FR operation is now accepted on 64 bit m/c.
  .
  Answer and By-Pass :
  This problem is fixed now BUT with the scenario,
  the recognition of variable fillet is not implemented
  in Part Feature Recognition : improvements will be
  provided in further releases. the by- pass is to:
  Use Remove Face capability in Part Design to
  remove variable fillets.
