Error description

  • FEM / SWEEP 3D MESH DOES NOT PRODUCE
    CONSISTENT OUTPUT.
    .
    SCENARIO:
    1.Delete All CATSettings.
    2.Start CATIA.
    3.Open the Document Part1.CATPart.
4.Go to Advanced Meshing Tools Workbench.
5.Click on Advanced Surface Mesher icon.
6.Keep mesh size=1mm, check Minimize triangles,
strip optimization, Directional mesh and automatic
    mesh capture.
    7.Keep the sag 0.2 mm.
8.Click on boundary simplifications and check the
lateral face and the bottom face of the cylinder.
9.Click on imposed elements, select the boundary
of the upper face and enter 32 as number of
    imposed nodes.
    10.Click on Mesh part.
    11.Mesh is obtained
12.Click on sweep 3D mesh icon.
13.Select the bottom and the top face.
    14.Enter angle=90 and layer=5
    15.Click on compute
    16.Click Okay
    17.Close the document.
18.Open the file galet.CATAnalysis in CATIA.
19.In the specification tree, we see that the sweep
    mesh has failed.
20.Double click on it, the error message is
    displayed.
    21.Close the document.
22.Now start again with step 3 till step 16.

Comments

  • Incident Diagnosis
Sweep 3D mesh produce different result because
mesh parameters ( capture tolerance ) are different
    .
    Correct Application
Sweep 3D mesh is consistent for the same
    geometry and mesh part parameters
