A DataPower service with a non-XML request type does not consume its input

Troubleshooting

Problem

A DataPower service, such as a Multi-Protocol Gateway, with a non-XML request type does not consume its input.

Symptom

A DataPower service, such as a Multi-Protocol Gateway, has the request type of non-XML and a policy rule with a fetch action as the first action. In this policy rule, the POST input that the rule handles is not processed by the action.

If the request produces output, the output data is concatenated with the request in the final results action. The concatenated data is posted to the destination or back to the front end, when processing uses the skip-backside variable.
