Error description

  • Scenario.
    1. Open to read the provided CATPart
    Workbench : Generative Shape Design
    2. Transfer all geometry from Hide to Show
    (Splines and Points).
    3. Identify Point.3 and Spline.1 in model.
    4. Double click on Sweep.1 in tree.
    5. In Swept Surface Defination dialog box enter the
    following fields...
    Relimiter.1 - Select Point.3 (model turns red).
    Relimeter.2 - No selection required.
    PREVIEW only.....
    6. Notice small green arrow at Sweep End Plane.
    7. Select arrow and reverse it. (model turns red
    again).
    8. Select OK.
==> the result is not correct. the Sweep no longer
lies on the spline.1 and is deformed.
    .
Which is expected from this function, Independent
of the arrow, the Sweep is possible in both
directions. The mistake is, the Sweep goes only in
    a direction.
At Step 8 the sweep no longer follows the spine
curve. It should be possible to limit the sweep
between any relimiters along the spine to change
the length of the sweep and it is not. It should be
possible to reverse the direction of the sweep when
the green arrow appears at step 7, and it is not.
    .

Comments

  • Incident Diagnosis :
The user expects to have swept surface splitted by
    spine relimiter
    .
    Correct Application :
The Spine relimiter only splits the spine curve :
therefore, the profile position is computed with
    regards to the relimited spine.
