HD34552: BAD BEHAVIOUR OF THE STL FUNCTION WITH A CPT INPUT

APAR status

• Closed as user error.

Error description

• bad behaviour of the STL function with a CPT input.
  
  
  SCENARIO:
  1- open in V4 the provided model
  2- STL/CREATE, in the parameters panel, key 30
  as maximum size of triangles and 0,05 as
  maximum sag
  3- select the solid sphere then click on YES to
  generate triangulation
  => 960 triangles are generated all around the
  sphere
  4- close the model
  5- open a new model in V4
  6- CLOUD/IMPORT, select ASCII as format then
  indicate the directory where you saved
  the .cgo_ascii file then click on OK
  => 1 cpt is created
  7- POLYGON/CREATE/PGONIZE, select the
  previously imported cpt
  8- key 0,43 as neighborhood size then click on OK
  => nothing happens, I don't think this behaviour is
  normal.
  9- STL/CREATE, in the parameters panel, key 30
  as maximum size of triangles and 0,05 as
  maximum sag
  10- select the cpt then click on YES to generate
  triangulation
  => only 120 triangles are generated. Triangles are
  not created all around the sphere.
