Error description

  • ANALYSIS (FEM) / Midnodes of TetraFiller Mesh
    TET10 not correct
    .
    SCENARIO:
    .
    1. Open the attached R16 level CATPart file in
    CATIA R16SP05 and R19SP03.
    2. Switch to Advanced meshing tool workbench.
    3. Select the Advanced Surface mesh command.
    4. Here, select parabolic type and TRIA mesh with
    size of 20.
    Select OK.
    5. Now select the Tetrahedron Filler command.
Select the previous surface mesh as input.
    6. Select parabolic as mesh type. Select OK.
    .
    7. Update all meshes.
RESULT: In R16 the generated 3D mesh strictly
follows the 2D TRIA mesh. The mid-nodes of 3D
mesh lie on the geometry and 2D mesh mid-nodes.
    .
In R19 the mid-nodes of 3D mesh do not lie on
    geometry or the 2D mesh.
    .
    .
    EXPECTED RESULT:
    .
The mid-nodes in R19 should lie on the geometry
and 2D mid-nodes as was the case in R16.
    .
    .
    .

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON VERSION V5R20 GA level.
NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED ON V5R19 SP6.
    Additional Closure Information:
    INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS:
The mid-nodes of 3D mesh do not lie on geometry or the 2D mesh.
The mid-nodes deviate from the 2D mesh nodes and the geometry.
    CORRECTION EXPLANATION:
Due to a defect the mesh generation was not correct.
The defect is now fixed and on fixed level the generated
mid-nodes of parabolic mesh correctly follow the geometry.
The mid-nodes do not deviate from the geometry / 2D mesh.
On fixed level the generated mesh adheres to to the 2D mesh and
    geometry.
