APAR status

Error description

  • ABSTRACT:
    "Synchronize all external references when
    updating" is not changed to activation when CATIA
    is restarted.
    SCENARIO:
    1) Open the attached CATProduct.
    2) Workbench is "DMU Kinematics".
    3) Select Tools>Options by menu bar. "Option"
    dialog box is displayed.
    4) Select "Part Infrastructure" on the tree.
    5) Select "General" tab. (Please confirm
    that "Synchronize all external references when
    updating" is activated)
    6) Click Cancel.
    7) Expand "Applications" on the tree
    until "Mechanism1, DOF=0" is displayed.
    8) Double-click "Mechanism1, DOF=0"."Kinematics
    Simulation" dialog box is displayed. "Simulation
    Information" window is displayed.
    9)"Simulation Information" message Reads as
    follows
    Contextual parts have been detected.
    Therefore, 'Update all external references' Part
    Infrastructure option has been deactivated. The
    option will be activated again as soon as you close
    the current document.
    10) Click "OK" on the window.
    11) Click "Close" on the dialog box.
    12) Select "Tools" > "Options" by menu
    bar. "Option" dialog box is displayed. "Synchronize
    all external references when updating" was
    changed to     deactivation. (This is the right
    behavior.)
    13) Click "Cancel".
    14) Close CATIA without save.(This is key point).
    15) Restart CATIA.
    16) Select "Tools" > "Options" by menu
    bar."Synchronize all external references when
    updating" is not changed to activation.This is the
    problem.
    RESULT:
    "Synchronize all external references when
    updating" is not changed to activation after restart
    of CATIA.
    EXPECTED RESULT:
    "Synchronize all external references when
    updating" should be changed to activation even if
    CATIA is restarted.

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON   VERSION V5R20 GA level.
    Additional Closure Information:
    Incident Diagnosis:
    Temporary deactivation does not return in the case of restart
    Closure description:
    In V5R20GA Level, the CATSetting is Restored when session is
    closed, so the problem is fixed.
    In V5R19SP6 level,there has been a Change in the Simulation
    Information warning message displayed in case of Contextual
    Part. The updated warning message is as follows
    "Contextual Parts have been detected. Therefore, 'Synchronize a
    ll external references' Part infrastructure options has been de
    activated. The option will be activated again as soon as you cl
    ose the current document. Please be sure to close the document
    window first before closing the CATIA session"
