  1. Open CATPart provided.
  2. Expand Complete Oil Pan, Shellable Body.10,
  Main Shape body and Solid Functional Set.1.
  3. Define on Work Object on Solid Functional Set.1.
  4. Select Thickness, Local Modifier icon.
  5. Select large planar face and give offset in
  positive Z direction with a value of 3mm.
  6. Update. Notice not all the faces offset. This is the
  problem.

Problem conclusion

• THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN
  CATIA
  Incident Diagnosis:
  When user selects a face to apply thickness one
  face gets selected. But on same plane, four faces
  from different features are getting merged. But
  oviously only one face gets selected and user can
  not apply thickness to other faces.

  Restriction Explanation:
  It is a face simplification issue. Faces of three
  external prisms and added feature are overlaped.
  In CATIA, overlaped faces lying on same
  geomtrical plane are merged. In order to be able to
  select all faces user can change there geomtrical
  plane (by chaning the height).

  By-Pass
  First thickness is created by selecting face of
  added. Then thickness feature is edited and other
  desired faces are selected.
