Error description

• DRAFTING(GENDRAFT)/ View generation failed on
  De-activation option "Prevent Generative View
  Style".
  .
  SCENARIO:
  1. Start CATIA with default CATIA settings.
  2. Open the CATDrawing file.
  3. Go to Tools / Options and verify that "prevent
  Generative view style" is activated.
  4. Update the view in the drawing.
  View update takes approximately 5 minutes.
  5. Close the drawing without saving.
  6. Open again the .CATDrawing file.
  7. Go into Tools / Options and deactivate the
  option "prevent generative view style"
  .
  RESULTS:
  The view is updated after approximately 20
  minutes.

  EXPECTED  BEHAVIOR:
  The Time taken should not be so much when
  working with Generative View Style (GVS).

• THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN
  CATIA.

  INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS:
  .
  View generation failed on De-activation
  option "Prevent Generative View Style.
  .
  RESTRICTION EXPLANATION:
  This is a restriction in CATIA, because, the "View
  Update" options with and without the use of GVS
  are different  and consequently, the resulting views
  are also different.
  .
  With the GVS, during the View Update, the "Axis
  Lines", "Center Lines", "Threads" & "3D
  Wireframes" are also being generated / updated.
  .
  All these geometries are NOT getting
  generated /updated during the View Update without
  GVS.
  .
  Naturally, when more options are to be executed
  during the update, especially "Thread" generation,
  the time required is definitely going to be more.
  .
  If the user tries to activate the "Prevent GVS
  usage" option, and right click on the View -
  Properties, and select ALL the above options (Axis,
  Threads, Center Lines, 3D Wireframes) and then
  click OK (which will call View Update), the user can
  see that the time taken is the same as the time
  when using the GVS.
  .
  This is not a real regression between the two
  options, it is just that the two scenarios have
  different update options, and hence they are taking
  different times to complete.
  .
