HD81732: FTA / DIMENSIONS DO NOT MOVE ALONG WITH THE GEOMETRY AFTER

APAR status

• Closed as duplicate of another APAR.

Error description

• FTA / Dimensions do not move along with the
  geometry after filtering.
  .
  SETTINGS:
  Part Infrastructure must be set to Manual Update in
  Tools/Options/Infrastructure/Part
  Infrastructure/Upadate select as Manual.
  .
  SCENARIO:
  0) Start CATIA.
  1) Open R19sp2 Move to origin with FTA.CATPart
  2) Click Part to Part command
  3) Set the following options ?
  - Keep Product Properties
  - Keep Colors and Attributes of subelements
  - Keep annotations
  4) Click OK
  = We now have a new part Move to
  origin_AllCATPart.CATPart
  5) Place Compass on face of solid.
  6) While holding CTRL, select Solid.1, Point.1, and
  Axis System.1
  7) Right click the red dot on the Compass and
  select Edit
  = Parameters for Compass manipulation window is
  displayed
  8) Enter ?0? in all values
  9) Click Apply
  10) Click Close
  11) Right click on un-updated features.
  .
  PROBLEM:
  Annotations will move when we update the
  Annotation Set.1
  (1) After creating the *ALL.CATPart file from the
  original one, the solid can be moved, but the FTA
  Dimensions do not.
  (2) They also appear out of sync in R19SP2
  .
  EXPECTED RESULT:
  (1) FTA dimensions move with the geometry
  (2) FTA dimensions remain in sync.

• THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN FOUND TO BE ANOTHER
  SYMPTOM OF THE PROBLEM REPORTED IN
  HD80596. OR THE ANSWER MADE
  FOR THIS DUPLICATE APAR APPLIES ALSO TO THE
  CURRENT PROBLEM.

  Correct Application:
  To make a dimension to follow the geometry, the
  Constant offset between dimension line and
  geometry option should be set before creating the
  dimension(in the original model).
  .

  between dimension line and geometry
  Defines whether the distance between the created
  dimension and the geometry remains the same
  when you move the geometry or not. By default,
  this option is not selected.
