Error description

  • SmarTeam V5R18 SP7 Viewer Problem
    Environment:
    Client OS and level: Windows XP Pro 64 bit
    Server OS and level: Windows Server 2003
    Database and level: Oracle 10g
    Scenario:
    We have upgraded from Smarteam-Catia V5R18
    SP5 to V5R18 SP7
    recently in a network of about 70 workstations.
    This morning (08.11.2008) the Foundation server is
    also upgraded.
    After completing the upgrade process, SmartTeam
    viewer failed
    to display the cgr images of Catia parts and Catia
    Products.The detailed procedure of Service Pack 7
    installation
    and failure of SmarTeam Viewer is explained and
    demonstrated
    in the attached word document.
    Scenario:
    - Have a SmarTeam installation of level
    V5R18SP05
    - copy V5R18SP07 CDs to disk
    1. start SP07 installation from Disk1
    2. during the install, you get a message saying
    ' Setup has detected that DS viewer is instaled on
    this
    machine.
    Do you want to install updates for this viewer?'
    --> select Yes
    3. When you are asked to specify the directory of
    the CATIA viewer,
    select the right directory on CD-image 2
    4. Installation finishes successfully.
    5. Start SmarTeam Edtor and select a CATPart or
    CATProduct
    6. Select TAB Viewer
    --> nothing displayed (beside a red cross)
