  • On selecting Compute, Singularity error is shown.

    SCENARIO:
    .
    1 Open the attached CATAnalysis file in CATIA R18
    SP05.
    2 In the analysis workbench, select Compute / All.
    3 During computation, following error message is
    displayed:
    .
    ERROR MESSAGE:
    Factorized matrix computation.
    Singularity detected in rotation (pivot too small)
    Possible reasons: missing restraint or connection
    specifications.
    Display rotational vectors to diagnostic the
    problem.
    .
    4 Open the file in R18 SP04. Select compute.
    5 The file is computed in R18 SP04 without errors
    and without any modifications in the mesh.
    .
    EXPECTED RESULT:
    .
    The model should be computed in R18SP05 without
    errors.

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION
    5 RELEASE 20 GA LEVEL.
    NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED
    ON V5R19SP03 AND ON V5R18SP08
    INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS:

    While compute singularity was detected.
    Problem was related with tolerance.

    CORRECTION EXPLANATION:
    .
    While performing numerical tolerance test, the
    tolerance set was incorrect.
    The tolerance value has been corrected.
    The model is now computed without error.
    .
