Abstract

This document describes how to download IBM® TXSeries® for Multiplatforms V8.2 using the Passport Advantage® Online Web site.

Introduction

IBM TXSeries for Multiplatforms is distributed transaction processing middleware for C, C++, COBOL, JavaTM and PL/I applications in a cloud environment, as well as in traditional data centers. TXSeries offers a reliable, scalable and highly available platform to develop, deploy and host mission-critical applications. It also integrates well into a mixed-language, multiplatform, service-oriented architecture (SOA) solution.

The following section explains how to download the product.


Downloading the product

Download the e-assembly image mentioned below. The e-assembly images are specified for each supported platform below.

  • Unpack (untar or unzip using operating system specific utilities) the e-assembly into the temporary directory on the target system used to host the installation images. The files must remain archived and compressed if downloaded to a Microsoft® Windows® environment to avoid file corruption when decompressing, and must be unpacked only on the target platform.
  • Follow the instructions in the Installation Guide to install the product (Installation guide is available in the Knowledge Center).

Table 1 represents the requirements and e-assembly image for each platform supported by TXSeries for Multiplatforms V8.2.

  • 670 MB of disk space to install the product, and approximately 1 GB of space in the /tmp directory to run the installation program.
