Error description

  • IMAGINE AND SHAPE: SURFACE HAS TO BE
    SELECTED TWICE TO MOVE COMPASS IN THE
    COMPASS DEFINITION
    .
    SCENARIO:
    1) Start CATIA.
    2) Open the CATPart
    WB: Imagine & Shape.
    3) Select the Modification command.
    4) Select the Subdivision Surface.1.
    5) Click the Compass Definition icon.
    6) Click the All Type Selection icon.
    7) Select a left edge.
    =The compass moves.
    8) Select the right surface.
    = The compass does not move and the direction of
    compass changes in the direction which is not
    correct. (This is the problem.)
    9) Select a right surface selected by Step8 again.
    = The compass moves into selected surface and
    the direction of compass changes in the correct
    direction.

    PROBLEM:
    Surface has to be selected twice to move the
    compass in the "Compass Definition" of IMA when
    changing the definition of compass into a Surface
    from an edge.
    .

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION
    5 RELEASE 20 GA LEVEL.
    NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED
    ON V5R19SP02
    Incident Diagnosis:
    Barycenter of face not computed when the last
    selection is an Edge
    .
    Correction Explanation:
    Problem fixed - Barycenter Always computed.
    When changing the definition of compass into a
    surface from an edge, the position and the
    direction of compass now changes by one
    selection.
    .
    Answer and By-Pass:
    Pick a second time the face.
    .
