Error description
This case brings to light a regression from level R18SP5 to R17SP8. To play the customer scenario please use "072808-QUM.zip" material and follow the following steps: .. 1) Open 072808-QUM.zip and read the "CustomerStepByStep.ppt" 2) In Windows create 2 temporari folders in the C: disk: C:\tmp\A and C:\tmp\B 3) Open the CAA workspace (\072808-QUM\DATA MATERIAL\CAA WS AND SCRIPTS\SampleSource\CAA_WS) in Visual Studio following the steps described by the customer 4) Launch CATIA with settings defined as shown in the ppt and in the R18.avi video (\072808- QUM\SCENARII VIDEOS\R18.avi or R17.avi) 5) Make an "Open" in CATIA of the .CATDrawing file (\072808-QUM\DATA MATERIAL\CATIA FILES\SampleData) 6) In CATIA Go to "Tools Macros" and upload the 2 .CATScript files (\072808-QUM\DATA MATERIAL\CAA WS AND SCRIPTS\SampleSource) 7) Run SampleA.CATScript and check the files are created in the A folder 8) Close the .CATDrawing file in CATIA and make an "Open" in CATIA of the .CATDrawing file previously created in C:\tmp\A 9) Run SampleB.CATScript and check the file is created in the B folder 10) Close the .CATDrawing file in CATIA and make an "Open" in CATIA of the .CATDrawing file still in the C:\tmp\A folder .. There are 2 different behaviours that show a regression between V5R17 and V5R18 levels: - V5R17 result OK: The .CATPart file moved in a different repository is still found by the CATDrawing. . - V5R18 result KO: The .CATPart file is not found anymore in the Desk View it appears in red and the "Edit-Links" command shows a "Document not found" message. . The customer is excpecting the same result in V5R17 and V5R18. .

Comments
1) The SampleB.CATScript uses a Windows file system (fSys) to do the cut, copy, delete, ? commands while CATIA is running. CATIA is then not warned about these commands and can search for a cut part. 2) Windows file system should be replaced by CATIA?s one (CATAFileSystem) as mentioned in the CAA documentation in chapter ?CAA V5 Automation coding rules?. 3) This worked on level R17 (in fact it shouldn?t!) because there was no writings in cache memory whereas on level R18 there are writings in it so CATIA still looks for the part. .
