• ABSTRACT: DMUSPA: THE MAXIMUM CLASH
  DISTANCE IS NOT DISPLAYED BY "CLASH".
  SCENARIO:
  0) Start CATIA V5R18SP5.
  1) Open the file : "TEST1.CATProduct". (Please
  confirm that the volume of "AAA" and the volume
  of "BBB" are crashing.)
  2) Expand "AAA(AAA.1)" on the tree. "AAA" is
  displayed on the tree.
  3) Double-click "AAA".
  4) Change workbench into "Generative Shape
  Design".
  5) Click "Intersect" of "Volumes operation"
  icon."Intersect Definition" dialog box is displayed.
  6) Select the volume of "AAA".
  7) Select the volume of "BBB".
  8) Click "OK".
  9) Click "BBB(BBB.1)" on the tree by MB3
  10) Select "Hide/Show" by context menu. The
  volume of "BBB" is hidden.The volume which
  combined each crash part is created.
  11) Click "Measure Between" icon."Measure
  Between" dialog box is displayed.
  12) Select "Surface only" as "Selection 1 mode:"
  13) Click "Customize"."Measure Between
  Customization" dialog box is displayed.
  14) Activate "Maximum Distance".
  15) Click "OK".
  16) Select the face of origin "AAA" volume.
  17) Select the edge of origin "BBB" volume.Result
  is 15mm(approximation) at the Z-axis direction.
  18) Click "Cancel".
  19) Close this file without save.
  20) Open the file : "TEST1.CATProduct".
  21) Click "Clash" icon."Check Clash" dialog box is
  displayed.
  22) Click "Apply".
  Result
  The maximum clash distance is not displayed when
  the "Clash" was performed.

  The maximum clash distance is not displayed
  by "Clash"
  Correct Application
  Penetration depth (Clash distnce) corresponds to
  the minimum distance by which it is necessary to
  translate an element to avoid a clash. The
  calculation is repeated for each pair of clashing
  elements and the maximum penetration depth
  output.If  translation of  the elementis done,
  elements no longer in clash but are in contact.
