HD76154: THE RESULT IS DIFFERENT BETWEEN R17 AND R18 WHEN UNTRIM IS PER FORMED

Error description

• The result is different between "R17" and "R18"
  when "Untrim"  is performed.
  <Scenario>
  1) Start CATIA with V5R18SP5.
  2) Open the file : "CATPart".
  (Workbench : "Generative Shape Design")
  3) Confirm the "Surface Untrim.2".
  >>This is the result that "Untrim" is performed on
  "R17SP3".
  4) Create "Surface Untrim".
  4.1) Click "Untrim" command.
  >>"Untrim" dialogbox is displayed.
  4.2) Select "Surface.1" as "Elements:" from the
  geometry or the tree.
  >>"Warning" window is displayed.
  4.3) Click "OK" button in "Warning" window.
  4.4) Click "OK" button in "Untrim" dialogbox.
  >>"Surface Untrim.3" is created.

  The results of "Untrim" are different between
  "R17SP3" and "R18SP5". >>>This is problem.
  < Expected Result >
  When "Untrim" is performed, the result should be
  the same as "R17SP3"

Problem conclusion

• THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION
  5 RELEASE 20 GA LEVEL.
  NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED
  ON V5R19SP01 AND ON V5R18SP07
  INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS
  The Result of Untrim Operation is different on R17
  and R18 Level
  The input surface has underlying geometry as
  Cylinder, therefore in R18 the result of untrim
  command was a complete cylinder.
  CORRECTION EXPLANATION
  1. If the input surface is a closed surface. The
  untrim result will be a closed surface depending on
  the bounding box of input surface.
  2. If the input surface is not a closed surface but
  the underlying geometry is a cylinder. The untrim
  result will be a surface depending on the bounding
  box of the input surface.
