Error description

• CATIA SHOWS WRONG CURSOR SYMBOL WHEN
  INSERTING A 2D COMPONENT
  Scenario:-
  1) start CATIA V5
  2) load a drawing with 2d components
  3) insert 2d component into drawing on a already
  existing geometry in the drawing
  Result:- CATIA shows wrong cursor symbol due to
  which it is impossible to pick a point when
  instantiating a 2D component since the geometry is
  hidden under the symbol
  Expected Result:- CATIA should show the right
  cursor symbol so that the 2D component can be
  placed by picking any point
  .

Problem conclusion

• THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION
  5 RELEASE 20 GA LEVEL.
  NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED
  ON V5R19SP01 AND ON V5R18SP07
  INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS:-
  When 2D Component instance is created and
  moving with the mouse, when it is moved over the
  line, it shows no entry sign.
  Reason: When Instance is moving with the mouse,
  there are two agents active
  1. Sketching assistance which shows the mouse
  coordinates
  2. Point selection agent: this agent is used for
  multiple selection of point.
  at this state, point selection agent is trying to
  prevaluate and as the geometry under the mouse
  is not point, it is showing no entry sign.
  CORRECTION EXPLANATION:-
  Point selection agent is given higher priority to
  Sketching assistance.
  the line is now selectable and user can place 2D
  component instance on line and with the constraint.
  .
