HD73680: GSD: OFFSET/OFFSET OPERATION FAILS WITH ERROR

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• SCENARIO:
  1) Open the file : "B.CATPart".
  (Workbench : "Generative Shape Design")
  2) Create "Offset".
  2.1) Click "Offset" icon. Offset Surface Definition
  dialog box is displayed.
  2.2) Input "B" as "Surface".
  2.3) Input "0.3mm" as "Offset" value.
  2.4) Click "OK" button. Warning message is
  displayed and one face isn't done to offset.
  This is problem.
  2.5) Click "NO" button. Error message is displayed.
  2.6) Click "OK" button.
  2.7) Bring cursor to "Offset Surface operator".
  Offset failed for smooth edges which are weakly
  sharp. Smooth input body in the neighborhood of
  these edges.

  PROBLEM:
  Incorrect result is obtained from offset. Offset
  failed for smooth edges which are weakly sharp.
  .
  EXPECTED RESULT:
  Offset should be done with all faces without error.

• THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION
  5 RELEASE 20 GA LEVEL.
  NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED
  ON V5R19SP01 AND V5R18SP06
  Incident Diagnosis:
  Offset operation fails with update error.
  .
  Correction Explanation:
  The problem has been corrected by versioning. The
  offset feature has to re-created to get the correct
  result.
