Error description

  • FTA / THE ANNOTATION USING FRONT VIEW IS
    NOT HIGHLIGHTED BY USING OPTIONS.
    .
    SCENARIO:
    Ok CASE
    < Tool / Option Setting >
    Options / Mechanical Design/ Functional
    Tolerancing & Annotation/ "Display" tab /
    Annotations in specification Tree/
    "Under View/Annotation Plane nodes" = Active
    "Under Annotation Set node" = De-activate
    .
    PROCESS:
    1.Start CATIA :R18SP3
    2.Open file: "T_27295.CATPart"
    (Workbench :Functional Tolerancing & Annotation)
    3.Expand "Views" on the tree.
    4.Check "Views" on the tree.
    =>All annotation using "Front View.1" is
    displayed directly under "Front View.1".
    =>"Front View.2" and "Front View.3" is also
    same.
    5.Activate "Front view.1".
    5-1.Click "Front View.1" on the tree by MB3.
    =>Context menu is displayed.
    5-2.Select "Front View.1 object" at context menu.
    5-3.Select "Definition".
    =>"Front view.1" is active
    6.Click "Front View.1" on the tree.
    =>"Front View.1" is highlighted on the geometry
    area.
    =>All annotation using "Front View.1" is
    highlighted on the geometry area.
    >>>This is shown correctly.
    7.Repeat Step.5 and Step.6 by "Front View.2"
    and "Front View.3".
    =>All annotation using "Front View.2" and "Front
    View.3" are highlighted on the geometry area.
    >>>This is also correctly shown.
    .
    KO CASE 1:
    .
    Options / Mechanical Design/ Functional
    Tolerancing & Annotation/ "Display" tab /
    Annotations in specification Tree/
    "Under View/Annotation Plane nodes" = Active
    "Under Annotation Set node" = Active
    .
    KO CASE 2:
    Options / Mechanical Design/ Functional
    Tolerancing & Annotation/ "Display" tab /
    Annotations in specification Tree/
    "Under View/Annotation Plane nodes" =De-active
    "Under Annotation Set node" = De-active
    .
    Scenario:
    Repeat the process as mentioned in Step 1 to 7.
    .
    RESULTS OBTAINED:
    In Both the cases ,
    All annotation using "Front View.1" is not
    highlighted on the geometry area. Same is the
    case for Front View 2 , and Front View 3.
    .
    EXPECTED RESULTS:
    When "Front View" is selected, All annotation
    using "Front View" should be highlighted even if
    Options change.

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN
    CATIA
    Incident Diagnosis
    FTA / THE ANNOTATION USING FRONT VIEW IS
    NOT HIGHLIGHTED BY USING OPTIONS.
    Restriction Explanation
    Three cases:-
    1.
    When only the ?Under View?option is selected, the
    annotations are highlighted on selecting the FTA
    view. This is because, the 3D annotation rep is
    aggregated under the FTA View node and the
    annotations are highlight in accordance with 3D
    RepPath defined. Here annotation 3D rep path is
    defined under the view node.
    =>Expected Behaviour.
    2.
    When both the options (i.e. ?Under View? + ?Under
    Set?) are selected, the annotations are not
    highlighted on selecting the FTA view. This is
    because; the annotation 3D rep path is defined
    under the set node.
    It is forbidden that 3D rep paths under two
    different fathers. Hence we can not set 3d rep path
    of TPS under View as well as under Set.
    Also we can not set 3d rep path of TPS under View
    instead of Set, because it will introduce many
    regressions.
    =>PRS.
    3.
    When the option ?Under Set? is selected, the
    annotations are not highlighted on selecting the FTA
    view. This is because; the annotation 3D rep path
    is defined under the set node.
    Here 3D rep path is no way related with View.
    Hence we can not expect the highlight of the TPSs
    on selection of view.
    =>USE.
    By-Pass
    Use FTA View/Contextual Menu/Select
    Annotations for the highlight of the annotations on
    selection of FTA view.
