  SCENARIO:
  .
  1. Start CATIA .
  2. Open Drafting workbranch .
  3. Select ISO standard, A0 ISO Sheet Style,
  Landscape.
  4. Go to Sheet Background (menu Edit -> Sheet
  Background).
  5. Select command icon Frame and Title Block
  (c:Frame and Title Block) .
  6. Select Style of Title Block: Drawing Titleblock
  PlyBook Style of Title Block .
  7. Select Create to create a frame and title block.
  8. Go to Working views (menu Edit -> Working
  views).
  9. Save document as PDF (menu File -> Save As >
  select Save as type: PDF).
  10. Close CATIA, not need to save a drawing.
  11. Start CATIA.
  12. Open Drafting workbench.
  13. Select ISO standard, A0 ISO Sheet Style,
  Landscape.
  14. Insert PDF (menu Insert -> Object -> Create
  from File -> Browse to PDF file and select it)
  15. Save the  document as CATDrawing (menu
  File -> Save)
  16. Cose CATIA.
  17. Start CATIA.
  18. Open saved CATDrawing.

  RESULTS OBTAINED:
  In the drawing sheet Black colored rectangle is
  obtained.

  This black rectangles should not be obtained.

  INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS:

  PDF .

  RESTRICTION EXPLANATION:
  .
  PDF insertion preview save in drawing failed, the
  Correct Drawing is not generated in Case of 64 bits
  OS.
  The reason could be either with Adobe or with MS.
  So, when the drawing is saved and reopened, the
  preview is lost. Please remark that the document
  remain useable by clicking the failed preview ? i.e.
  black area (by launching Acrobat Reader).
  This behavior is specific for PDF document with
  important page sizes (in the case of CATIA drawing
  saved as pdf, 46.81 x 33.11 in.). With standard PDF
  (common 8.5 x 11 in.), there is  no problem.
  .
  In (MS WordPad software), which also implements
  the same MS OLE functionalities functionalities, shows similar
  problem with this kind of PDF : inserting and preview
  generation are OK, but save and reopen are is not
  correct (preview is lost, but the inserting object is
  still useable).
  .
  BYPASS:
  Bypass and the solution is to Change/Modifying the registry to
  set the threshold of the buffer allocation size to higher
  value.
  .
  The registry that need be modified is:
  .
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Ole
  .
  "MaximumAllowedAllocationSize"=dword
  .
  1.  Add the registry key
  2.  Shut down and restart your computer
  .
  If the Scenario is Run after the following modification in the
  RegEdit, correct results are obtained.
  The problem lies with the default allocation size set for the
  particular Software (Microsoft or Adobe).
