Installation
1. Download the updated JRE package from IBM Fix Central.
2. Expand the compressed download file into a temporary local directory.
3. Stop your Application Server and close all unnecessary programs.
4. Back up the existing JRE installation of COS/CES by renaming the existing jre or jre64 directory: add the .old extension (for instance: jre.old).
COS: <Install-Directory>/opl/oplide/jre
CES: <Install-Directory>/CPLEX_Server/jre and <Install-Directory>/CPLEX_Studio/opl/oplide/jre
5. Copy the JRE compressed files to the COS/CES installation from the unpacked download directory (not necessary on Windows® platforms)
6. Extract all these JRE files into this directory.
COS: <Install-Directory>/opl/oplide/jre
CES: <Install-Directory>/CPLEX_Server/jre and <Install-Directory>/CPLEX_Studio/opl/oplide/jre
7. Update the file permissions to match the original installation (not required for Windows®).
The directory structure of this JRE directory has now to resemble the original directory, which was moved in step 4 above.

Uninstallation
Uninstallation
Before you apply a fix pack, these updated JRE files have to be removed, otherwise an uninstallation could leave files behind.
This is achieved by deleting the JRE directory, and moving the backed-up directory back into its original location:
1. Stop your Application Server and close all unnecessary programs.
2. Remove the existing JRE installation from COS/CES
COS: <Install-Directory>/opl/oplide/jre
CES: <Install-Directory>/CPLEX_Server/jre and <Install-Directory>/CPLEX_Studio/opl/oplide/jre
3. Rename the backed-up directory by removing the .old extension (For instance: jre.old becomes jre)
4. Uninstall the product or apply the fix pack
