Abstract
Older versions of ClearCase cannot use Btrfs as the root file system when used with dynamic views.

Btrfs is a file system type with features like snapshot and copy-on-write, available on some Linux distributions. Btrfs as the root file system was not compatible with MVFS (MultiVersion File System), which is required for ClearCase dynamic views. As a result, Btrfs as the root file system was not supported for several releases of ClearCase.
We added support for Btrfs as the root filesystem for use with dynamic views in ClearCase 8.0.1.13 and ClearCase 9.0.0.3.
