What written statement can IBM i2 Analyst's Notebook product support make regarding the security of the use of dongles as a licensing mechanism?
Cause
Need assurance and confirmation that security is not compromised. The use of dongles (USB or Serial port) must be READ only, allow no ability to store information on them, and free of spyware or malware.
Answer
Older versions (8.7.x and earlier) of Analyst's Notebook may use standalone (Blue) or network (Red) dongles as the mechanism to enforce licensing. These dongles were developed by another company, SafeNet, that are in use with these older versions of i2 Analyst's Notebook.
By contacting the SafeNet technical support line, they will provide a written statement as to their security.
