Error description
FTA (part) / Selecting Chamfer Dimension highlights extra faces for chamfer . Scenario 1.) Start CATIA V5R17SP3. 2.) Open the sent file : GDIM.CATPart. A solid with a view appears. 3.) Enter "FTA" the work bench. 4-1.) Click "Generative Dimension" the command icon. 4-2.) Expand "Body.2" the node in the tree. 4-3.) Select "Chamfer.25". "Generate 3D Tolerancing dimensions" dialog box appears. 4-4.) Click a listed Feature Name to create its dimension. See an activation of "Apply" button. 4-5.) Click "OK". The dimension for "Chamfer.25" is created. 5.)Confirm "3D-Annotation-Query Switch On /Switch Off" is activated. This is a key point. 6.) Click "Dimension.1." . Problem: You see that not only "Chamfer.25" is highlighted but faces next to Chamfer are Also highlighted. . Additional Information: Selecting Chamfer.25 in the Specification tree correctly highlights the Dimension and Chamfer faces. . Expected result: Only chamfer faces should be highlighted. .

Documentation Reference 3D Functional Tolerancing & Annotation User Tasks Generating Dimensions . MODIFICATION: Following text has been added: . Chamfering consists of removing or adding a flat section from a selected edge to create a beveled surface between the two original faces common to that edge. So, a chamfer dimension is created on three faces which comprises of, an added flat section and the two original faces. Thus, whenever the chamfer dimension is selected, the features generating the two original faces also get highlighted in the feature tree. .
