Error description

  • Machining (AMG) / Multi-Axis Flank Contouring
    violated local modification condition.
    .
    SCENARIO:
    1. Open the CATProcess
    2. Edit the machining operation
    3. On the geometry tab RMB on the drive surfaces
    pictorial and choose "Local Modifications"
    4. Notice that drive surface 3 has a stopping
condition of "To" drive surface 4
    5. Compute the toolpath--> the toolpath goes Past
    drive surface 4
    6. Expected Result ->Toolpath should go "To" DS 4
    7. Edit the operation and change the stopping
condition of drive surface 3 to "Past"
    8. Compute -> The result is the same
    9. Edit the operation and change the stopping
condition of drive surface 3 to "On"
    10. Compute -> The result is the same.
It is not possible to get "To" or "On" stopping
    condition on DS 3
    This is Problem.
    .
    EXPECTED RESULT:
Multi-Axis Flank Contouring should not violate local
    modification condition.
    .

Problem conclusion

  • THIS MODIFICATION WILL BE INCLUDED IN CATIA
    DOCUMENTATION DELIVERED WITH CATIA
    VERSION 5 RELEASE 18.

    MODIFICATION:
Two additions are needed to the documentation:
    1)
Add the following precision to the description of the
    "Local Stopping condition" parameter:
In some cases, the stopping condition may be
ignored (for example, if the drive to reach is
located after the Past position of the current drive).
    2)
Add the following precision to the description of the
    "Tool side on drive" parameter:
This parameter is predominant compared the local
    Stopping condition.
    .
