Error description

  • ASD : CONSTRAINT : CANNOT SELECT THE
    PUBLISHED ELEMENT FOR CREATING
    COINCEDENCE CONSTRAINT
    .
    SCENARIO:
    1. Start CATIA and click on Tools menu and select
    Options. Options dialog box appears.
    2. Go to Mechanical Design ᄄ Assembly Design ᄄ
    Constraints tab page.
    3. Check ON the option Use published geometry of
    any level.
    4. Click OK to options dialog box.
    5. Open Product1.CATProduct in Assembly
    workbench.
    6. Click on View menu and select Tree Expansion ᄄ
Expand second level option. Specification tree is
    expanded at second level.
    7. Click on Coincidence constraint icon.
    8. Select Line.1 under comp (COMPONENT) as first
    element
    9. Select Curve.4 under Inter (Intermediaire) as
    second element
    .
    OBSERVATION:
    Curve.4 cannot be selected
    .

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION
    5 RELEASE 19 GA level.
    .
    Incident Diagnosis
A Curve copy of an Axis cannot be selected for
    coincidence constraint.
    .
    Correction Explanation
The copy of an Axis is now a Line : so the
    coincidence constraint is allowed.
    .
    Answer and By-Pass
    Re-create Curve.4 by copying
Axis "AsResultWithLink" : the result will be a line.
Then delete Curve.4. The follow the scenario by
    creating coincidence constraint between Line.1
under COMP and Line.1 under Inter.
    .
    Additional Information
This problem is also fixed on V5R18 SP01 level
    .
