Prerequisites and co-requisites:

This fix pack can be installed on InfoSphere Master Data Management Reference Data Management v11.0.0.0 with any interim fix level.

Installation information:

Prior to installing the fix:

Download the 11.0.0.1-MDM-RDM-FP01IF000.zip file from the download location described above.

Extract the content of the archive file to a temporary location; for example, temp/11.0.0.1-MDM-RDM-FP01IF000


Installing the fix:


1. Prerequisites:

  1. Back up the existing RDMClient.ear from your current installation.
  2. Extract the new RDMClientEAR.ear file from the fix location, for example temp/11.0.0.1-MDM-RDM-FP01IF000 folder.
  3. In RDMClientEAR\RDM_JAX-WS_Client.jar\META-INF\wsdl\<all-wsdl-files>, change all "<HOSTNAME>:<PORT>" to the same port that was set in the installed RDMClientEAR.ear. For example: "localhost:9080".
  4. In RDMClientEAR\RestAPI.war\WEB-INF\classes\client.properties, change "<HOSTNAME>:<PORT>" >" to the same port that was set in the installed RDMClientEAR.ear. For example: "localhost:9080".
  5. In RDMClientEAR\META-INF\RDMWSBinding\PolicyTypes\WSSecurity\bindings.xml, change login ID and password to match with user current RDM Console login ID and password.
  6. Archive the RDMClientEAR.ear file.


2. Update the EAR file:
  1. Log into the WebSphere Application Server Administrative Console.
  2. Navigate to Servers > Server Types > WebSphere Application Servers, and stop the server.
  3. Navigate to Applications > Application Types > WebSphere Enterprise Applications, select the check box for RDMClientEAR-<InstanceName>.
  4. Click Update, and provide the RDMClientEAR.ear file.
  5. Click Next, select Fast Path and click through the default options.
  6. Click Save and finish. Synchronize nodes if updating on cluster.


3. Upload the iFix Bundles:
  1. Navigate to Environment > OSGi bundle repositories > Internal bundle repository
  2. Click on New.
  3. Use the file browser to locate the bundles in the temporary fix pack location, for example temp/11.0.0.1-MDM-RDM-FP01IF000 and upload it to the OSGi Internal Bundle Repository.


4. Replace the Bundle in the EBA with the new Bundle:
  1. Navigate to Applications > Application Types > Assets.
  2. Click on the EBA you intend to patch, for example com.ibm.mdm.cdh.app<INSTANCE_NAME>.eba -<INSTANCE_NAME>.eba asset.
  3. In the Additional Properties section, click on Update bundle versions in this application.
  4. You’ll see a list of the OSGi bundles comprising this EBA. Locate the RDM bundle and select the newer version (11.0.0.FP00IFXXX) from the drop down.
  5. Any customizations done to the installed EAR need to be copied to this EAR file as they will get overwritten in the update.
  6. Click Preview and then click Create, then click Save.


5. Update the running bundles:
  1. Navigate to Applications > Application Types > Business-level applications.
  2. Click on the EBA asset, for example CDH-operational-server-EBA-<INSTANCE_NAME>.
  3. Click on the EBA asset associated with this application, for example com.ibm.mdm.cdh.app<INSTANCE_NAME>.eba.
  4. In OSGi application deployment status section, click the Update to latest deployment.
  5. Click OK and then click through the next few default options.
  6. Click Finish and Save.
  7. Synchronize the nodes if applicable.
  8. Restart the server.


6. Update Batch export (optional):
  1. Navigate to CDH_HOME\<BATCH_EXPORT_HOME>\BatchExportClient.jar and make a back up of the JAR file.
  2. Copy the JAR from the temporary fix pack location and replace it.
